Then, continue to “La Matilde”, the largest tobacco factory on the island, discover the history of the Dominican cigar and how those piles of dried leaves become some of the best cigars in the world.

Then, make a detour to the bohemian Altos de Chavón, a replica of a medieval city, where you can explore archeological sites, appreciate the Taino exhibition at the Regional Archaeological Museum, and take the opportunity to buy excellent local crafts, before heading to the Chavón River.

Climb aboard a spacious barge, take a seat and enjoy the breathtaking natural landscape, while chefs prepare freshly caught lobster on a hot grill.

When lunch is over, return to the city and make a final stop to admire the ornate architecture of the Cathedral Basilica Our Lady of Altagracia, before returning to your hotel.
